Maybe not my favorite preparatory task, but we celebrate them all
So, 22 hours of close-quarters flights, combined with basically living in a school will -- as any school teacher can imagine--mean a real and imminent possibility of lice. Warding it off if we can by using lice repellent shampoo (basically loaded with tea tree oil, rosemary, and citronella) for all members of the household in the week leading up to her arrival and while she's here regardless of if there are any stow-aways. It smells really nice, so at least there's that.
Also, wrote the names of the products in Russian so there's less confusion mid-shower about which product is used for which purpose. That part is less itch-inducing.
