Woah Nelly, what a way to finish the summer.
Two weekends ago we drove to New Jersey and spent 7 days beach hopping, putt-putting, and laughing with my sister and her husband.
One weekend ago we drove back.
This past weekend we packed up on Friday and drove to Ohio.
We spent 3 days biking and playing and laughing with my parents and siblings and nieces and nephews. My sister's oldest turned 5 so we threw a birthday party. And the 114th Annual Bean Bake community picnic was held on Labor Day.
By 3 that day we loaded everyone back into the car for the 10 hour drive back. We got home just after midnight and sent Jorge off to his Kindergarten orientation at 8:30 the next morning. A half day of "kids at school" teaser had the parents counting the seconds until Wednesday morning when the two bigs were OUT OF THE HOUSE for nearly 8 hours..
1800 miles in the Accord over 2 weeks with three kids and no high-tech distractions is the perfect recipe to get some fantastic vacations to put the exclamation point on your summer while simultaneously making everyone completely sick of each other's faces.
They were cute again by the time I picked them up at 3.
Rob started teaching again and research is taking every brain cell I can spare, so having 40 hours of 67% fewer children is worthy of dancing.
